Savannah collected books and made a reading nook for AVDA domestic abuse victims center. The children are able to curl up in a bean bag with a book and a blanket while their parent does paperwork.

More from Savannah:

My name is Savannah Garrett, and I was a Girl Scout from the time I was 5 until I graduated high school at 18. I am currently 19 and a Sophomore at the University of Central Florida studying Political Science and National Intelligence and Security. I am so thankful for growing up as a Girl Scout because of the amazing friends and memories that I was able to make during my childhood. I am especially thankful for my Troop Leader Kristina Phelps for pushing me to get my Gold Award, even amid my senior year, applying to colleges, and dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. If it were not for her dedication to Troop 20962, I would not be here today. After college, I plan on moving to Washington D.C. to continue working for or alongside the government in some capacity. I am taking the Girl Scout Law with me to make the world a better place and to serve my country.
