More from Evelyn:

My name is Evelyn Taliaferro and I am a current freshman at Princeton University majoring in electrical and computer engineering. I joined Girl Scout Troop 5357 in the first grade and was an active member of the troop until I graduated from Nansemond River High School in 2022. My Girl Scout journey culminated with my Gold Award Project, “EngineerKids!” where I developed a website, designed a curriculum, and held workshops for underprivileged girls to expose them to careers in STEM. My passion for engineering stemmed from my participation with my high school’s engineering specialty program, Project Lead the Way. The summer after my junior year I attended the Virginia Summer Governor’s School where I discovered my specific interest in electrical engineering. I’m passionate about exposing girls to careers in engineering and I currently work with young Girl Scouts as a member of the Society of Women Engineers at Princeton University.
